As we celebrate the Christ-Child born as Saviour of the world, we invite you to our churches this Christmas.   Below are listed some of our special Christmas services and events.  Those marked # are especially suited to those with younger families.

 

Sunday 30 November, 7.00pm
Advent Carols

A service of carols and readings as we lead into the Christmas period, with candles. 

Sunday 07 December, from 3.00pm
Family Christingle Service#

We start from 3pm with a workshop where you can make your own Christingle (an orange with symbolic sweets and fruit) and share refreshments before the traditional Christingle service begins at 4pm.

 

Monday 08 December, 7.30pm
A Christmas Concert

With a specially put together Choir, there will be music for all.  Songs to listen to and some to participate in, wear your Christmas jumper and come and have some fun!  Wine and mince pies available (with donations) and a retiring collection in aid of Project Inspire.  

Sunday 21 December, 5pm
Service of Nine Lessons and Carols

A traditional service of readings and carols for Christmas.

Wednesday 24 December – Christmas Eve

4.00pm Crib Service#

Especially for children, a telling of the Christmas story and a chance to dress up.  

11.15pm First Christmas Communion

The first service of Holy Communion for Christmas.  The choir will be singing carols around the piano from 11pm, our service will begin at 11.15pm.  

Thursday 25 December – Christmas Day

8.00am Short spoken Christmas Communion

This service is a short, spoken Holy Communion following the traditional BCP liturgy

10.00am Family Communion#*

An opportunity for the whole family to join together to celebrate the birth of Christ in a service of Holy Communion using contemporary Common Worship liturgy, with carols.  The service will be live-streamed, we will use the Green service book and a customised order of service available online nearer the day.
